The staff of the Ukrainian State Institute of Cultural Heritage has been participating in the Nesvizh Academy International Summer School for several years, which aims to improve the professional training of specialists from Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, and Lithuania in the field of conservation and restoration of cultural monuments and protection of historical landscapes. The theme of this year's XXV anniversary School was "Protection and Development of Palaces and Manor Complexes". During the seminars, field workshops, and excursions, the main emphasis was placed on practical experience in creating a revitalization strategy, adapting cultural heritage to the socio-cultural environment, and on topical aspects of protection and restoration of historic palace and estate complexes. Among the lecturers were art historians, architects, and restorers - leading experts from Belarus and Poland, among others: Mariusz Czuba, Deputy Director of the National Heritage Institute; Krzysztof Salatyński, Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, Chairman of the Polish National Committee "Blue Shield"; Jan Janczykowski, restorer of heritage sites in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Director of the Department of Monument Protection of the Republic of Poland; Angelika Mitskevich, leading specialist of the Scientific and Practical Center of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise of the Republic of Belarus; Olga Bazhenova, Doctor of Art History of the Belarusian State University of Art. It should be noted that during the discussion of the current aspects of protection and restoration of historical palace and estate complexes, the staff of the Ukrainian State Institute of Cultural Heritage, which has been conducting an inventory of estate and park complexes in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, and Ternopil regions for a year, shared their experience.
