A team of researchers from the Ukrainian State Institute of Cultural Heritage, commissioned by the Department of Construction and Architecture of the Kakhovka City Council, developed the Historical and Architectural Reference Plan for the City of Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast, defining the boundaries and modes of use of monument protection zones and historical areas. Historical cities of Ukraine, which were included in the list by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 26.07.2001 No. 878, require a special architectural and urban planning approach, as urban development on their territory should be based on the principles of preservation, protection and rational use of immovable cultural heritage. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage monuments and objects, the layout and traditional character of the environment. To achieve this goal, UDICS specialists conducted historical, architectural and urban planning research, studied archival sources of planning and development. The data of the "Historical and Architectural Reference Plan of the City of Kakhovka, Kherson Region, Defining the Boundaries and Modes of Use of Monument Protection Zones and Historical Areas", approved by the Order of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine No. 2243 dated 28.10.2020, will be used in the preparation of urban planning conditions and restrictions, preparation of design tasks, development and approval of relevant types of project documentation provided for by the laws of Ukraine.
